6 steps for proper cashmere care
-
Wash. Run cold water (30°C) into a sink or container and add some gentle laundry detergent (Ph 8+), ideally a special laundry gel for wool.
-
Soak. Leave the sweater to soak for 30 minutes. Any colouring of the water is completely natural and does not mean your sweater has lost colour. You can also use a washing machine that has a hand-wash setting (at a maximum water temperature of 30°C and at a maximum 30-minute washing cycle).
-
Rinse. Rinse your sweater under cold running water to remove the detergent.
-
Dry. Place the sweater on a towel and roll it gently. This will remove excess water. Then lay the sweater out flat on a dry towel and coax it back into its regular shape. Let it dry.
-
Iron. Cashmere can be ironed at low temperatures without causing any damage. Caution: the logo patch must be ironed over baking paper.
-
Remove pilling. Although cashmere pills much less then other materials, even cashmere sweaters sometimes need to be finely combed. A cashmere hand brash is suitable for removing all unwanted pilling.
